Warner Bro's, Hard Rock, Boguis, Casa de Las Cervezas, Joy...

So last weekend was spent at el Parque Warner, aka the Warner Bro's theme park! We got there in the afternoon and were basically the only people there which was great as it meant no queues. We went on everything a billion times until our heads were spinning and we felt like throwing up (how lovely!). Superman had to be the favourite ride, an inverted rollercoaster where we got to sit in the front row! La Venganza Del Enemigo was also AWESOME... You get taken to the top of this giant tower ...

...And then dropped like a kazillion feet! Thrills and spills people, thrills and spills!!!!!! :)

Saturday night was spent at Hard Rock Cafe, you can't beat the Hard Rock!


It was also the first ever Noche en Blanca celebrated in Madrid, meaning that the city decided that everyone needs to be far more cultured and so there were free shows and museums were open 24hrs... Unfortunately enforced culture meant that queuing became ridiculous so me and the Fab man ended up meeting some new friends and hitting a few swanky bars...



On Tuesday night we stumbled into a lovely little jazz bar called Boguis in Chueca. Boguis is an intimate little spot where we watched the jazz men do their live-jamming thing!

Now i know we should really be soaking up the culture, eating tapas and doing the spanish do but hey, we're here for a whole year and there's plenty of time for all that so we're taking it step by step people.

Wednesday night: La Casa de las cervezas & Joy with our Californian friends...


Clubbing at JOY certainly wasn't joyful..! It's the second time i've been there and i HATE it!!!!! Mental note-I WILL NEVER GO TO JOY EVER AGAIN no matter how much everyone tries to persuade me and goes on about how fun and amazing it will be cos we get in free... It's a shame because the club itself is AMAZING. Stunning modern decor with the coolest paintings, just a shame the music is NOTHING to write home about AT ALL!!!!


Tonight's Eric's Bday (American guy in pic above), so it's gonna be a big one at Kapital... x x x

MONACITA EN MADREEEEEEEED!!!!

Hey hey everybody!!!! So it's been just over 2wks and i know that i've hardcore sucked at this blogging thing but it's all been due to lack of internet at the flat. Madrid's REALLY cool, i'm properly settling in now and embracing the city although the pangs of homesickness were really felt last week... *sniffles*.

Our flat's BEAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTIFUL!!!!! So much more amazing than what i was expecting... When the taxi pulled up in front of it i was like "holy crap it's like the flat in cruel intentions," (you know the bit where Reese Witherspoon gets out of the taxi and mr. hottie mc hott Ryan Phillipe is standing on the balcony smoking a cigarette? well THAT's OUR BALCONY!!!!! :) YAY!!!!

So the first couple of days were filled with food shopping and visits to Ikea. I LOVE IKEA. We practically bought it out and did up all our rooms. Then lo and behold to my surprise, (Dom's great at keeping secrets bless her!), one of my bestest friends Alexx turned up at the flat to visit us and stay for 2 weeks!!!!! It was the craziest and most exciting thing! And the funniest part of it all was that as he arrived i was standing on the balcony and actually looked directly at him! But being totally short-sightedly blind and not wearing my glasses i thought it was a woman?!?!!? LOOOOOOOOOOL! I actually called Dom over and said "look it's Fabio, (one of our flatmates & best friends), Dom looked at me in horror so then i go, "he's kind of a mixture of Alexx & Fabio", Dom is properly staring at me with wide eyes and THE most horrified expression so i go "what, is it a woman?!?!?". It was priceless and then of course i realised it was Alexx and all was wonderful!!!!

Uni's started, it's pretty cool & basically everyone on my course is from the states. The workload's alright and i'm very much on top of everything, i even go to the library!!! Who'dve thought hey?!? As well as working hard i've obviously been playing harder, only problem being the Spaniards LOVE techno & cheesey europop!!!! Luckily i've discovered THE coolest hip hop club/shisha bar, it's called "La Comedia" and we already own it! ;)

There's clearly WAAAAAY too much going on but now we have the net there will be muchos updates and piccies coming ur way so stay tuned! Mucho love x x La Monacita

I'm back.... Oh YEAH!!!!! :) Holiday TOTALLY RAWKED!!!! lots of eating, tanning, sleeping, tanning and more tanning...! i'm actually scared it's faded already as it's so miserable back here... boo hoo... it's like the sky is crying.... please don't cry sky!!!!! lol...

so now it begins... ahead of me lies 5days in which i must pack up my entire life (and somehow transport it to Madrid; all those clothes and SHOES -wowsers!!!), and say my last goodbye's to all my beautiful friends, *sniffles* and family, * tear* :( wa waaaaaaaaaaaa! it's gonna be so sad...

BUT i'm not dwelling on that... i'm CRAZY excited and smiling smiling as Madrid awaits!!!! :) YAY! Madrid marks the beginning of a new chapter, a new era if u may... New city, new school, meeting and greeting new people, and on the 12th it's my b-day and ima be 23!!!!! WOOOO!!! And this is THE year!!!!!! Ima LOVE it, EMBRACE it and LIVE it!!!! (as u can tell the endorphins are running havoc inside me at the mo! lol). And who knows.... maybe i'll bump into Joaquin Cortes...
